Riverview Varsity Flag Football

The Riverview Varsity Flag Football team is currently 3-0 as they beat Bloomingdale 7-6 and shut out both Newsome and Strawberry Crest with scores of 34-0 and 41-0 respectively. This revenged a loss to the Bulls last season in the district finals. Before the match against Strawberry Crest quarterback Madyson Carrera completed 42 out of 63 passes for 403 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Stephanie Garcia had 12 catches for 174 yards and 3 TD’s. Tania Clark had eight catches for 91 yards and 1 TD.

In the game against Strawberry Crest, scorers included Katie Muratti, Tania Clark and Stephanie Garcia. Offensive coach David Coffey said, “We are ranked number five in the state and we are currently number one in the district. We still got a lot to improve from our stats from last season and we are looking for a district title.”
