RVHS Soccer Takes On Spoto
Last Tuesday night the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams faced Spoto at away games, with both teams leaving the Spartans empty handed with 8-0 mercy rule wins.
A senior player on the boys’ soccer team, Luis Quintero, set the school record for the most goals scored by a single player in one game, scoring seven out of eight goals in Tuesday’s game. He felt, “excited, and was happy to have such a supportive team,” and believes the team is, “pretty good this season – a lot of friendship and family relationships that help us do better.” Quintero says the team’s goal is to win districts and get as far as they can after that.
The leader in goals for the girls’ team was sophomore Madison Jones who scored four goals in the game. She feels, “pretty good about it,” and that, “the team’s doing good, just need to work on a couple things.” Jones wants the team to make it to regionals again this season.
Both teams will face Sickles at home tomorrow night.
